Internships

The Fall 2025 Internship Application is now closed. The Deadline to apply was Friday, July 25.

Terms and Lengths: Spring, Summer and Fall Session Internships. Length of internships vary depending on availability, but generally align with the student’s college semester.

Job Description:

In the Washington, DC office, internships run throughout the fall, spring or summer semesters for college students. The hours are flexible to accommodate students' hectic course schedules, but generally run 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. when Congress is in session, and 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. when it is not.

In Washington, DC, intern responsibilities will vary. They will be asked to answer phones, run errands, research legislation for the Member and legislative staff, attend hearings and briefings, and answer constituent letters on various issues before the House. As a result, interns learn about the legislative process and the many other functions of a congressional office.

In the District office, internships run throughout the fall, spring or summer semesters. Our office is open Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM. Hours are flexible to accommodate student schedules. District interns may be asked to do a variety of things including day-to-day office work such as answering phones, going through correspondence from constituents, assisting caseworkers with matters pending before federal agencies, and attending district events.

Internships are for currently enrolled college students.
