This nationwide event allows high school students from across the country to compete against their peers by creating and exhibiting their software application, or "app," for mobile, tablet, or computer devices on a platform of their choice.
Whether you're solving a real-world problem or building something just for fun, you can code your app in any language, for any platform, using any tools you like.
Examples of eligible apps include: Mobile apps, Desktop applications, Wearable tech apps, Web-based tools or platforms, Programmed robotics projects, Chatbots or voice assistants, Games with coded logic, AI or machine learning models, etc.

Each year, the U.S. House of Representatives hosts the Congressional App Challenge. This is an annual coding competition designed to encourage student participation in computer science and coding and an opportunity for students to compete against their peers by creating an application (also known as an “app”) for desktop/PC, web, tablet, mobile, raspberry Pi or other devices.
The winning App from the 7th Congressional District may be put on display in the U.S. Capitol Building for one year and will be featured on the House of Representatives website. Winning students are also invited to the #HouseofCode Capitol Hill Reception in Washington, D.C. Runners-up will also be selected for recognition.
