Check Ceremony

(June 10, 2024) STANHOPE, NJ – Today, Congressman Tom Kean, Jr. (NJ-07) presented a $3,300,00 ceremonial check for the Stanhope Water Tower Installation project secured by the FY2024 Community Project Funding process. This funding will be used for upgrading the Stanhope Water Tower. 

This project will install a water tower for the Borough of Stanhope that will significantly enhance the municipal water supply to better safeguard residents.

(June 10, 2024) BUDD LAKE, NJ – Today, Congressman Tom Kean, Jr. (NJ-07) presented a $600,000 ceremonial check for the Mount Olive Township Stormwater Management project secured by the FY2024 Community Project Funding process. This funding will be used for upgrading the Mount Olive Township Stormwater Management.   

The project will include construction and installation of water pollution prevention and abatement features that will enhance stormwater runoff from transportation facilities that discharge to the lake.

Congressman Kean invites students from New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District who wish to pursue an education at one of four service academies to apply for a Congressional nomination to the Service Academy.

(May 16, 2024) WASHINGTON, DC – Today, the House Foreign Affairs Committee passed Europe Subcommittee Chairman, Tom Kean, Jr.’s (NJ-07) Rosatom Sanctions Enforcement Act. This bill will impose sanctions on Rosatom, the Russian state-owned nuclear energy corporation.

(May 16, 2024) BERNARDSVILLE, NJ – Congressman Tom Kean, Jr. (NJ-07) officially launched his first Law Enforcement Hometown Hero Initiative, honoring local law enforcement officers across New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District.  

Congressman Kean took submissions throughout New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District and will be highlighting law enforcement heroes throughout the year. Law Enforcement Hometown Heroes were nominated by their supervisors and chiefs from their respective agencies throughout the district.

(May 15, 2024) BERNARDSVILLE, NJ – On Monday, Congressman Tom Kean, Jr. (NJ-07) hosted a roundtable to address rising crime in New Jersey with County Sheriffs and Undersheriffs from Somerset, Union, Hunterdon, Morris, Warren, and Sussex.  

Crime has increased in New Jersey’s suburbs, including home break-ins, catalytic converter thefts, and local small businesses being robbed.

(May 14, 2024) BERNARDSVILLE, NJ – Yesterday, Congressman Tom Kean, Jr. (NJ-07) hosted a roundtable to address the rise of antisemitism in New Jersey and nationwide.  

In attendance were Rabbis, Jewish leaders, local elected officials, and high school and college students from New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District.  

According to the Anti-Defamation League, since Hamas’ brutal surprise attack on Israel on October 7th, 2023, the United States saw a 140% increase from 2022 in antisemitic cases.

(May 8, 2024) WASHINGTON, DC – Today, the House of Representatives passed the Fire Grants and Safety Act, 393 to 13. Abipartisan, bicameral bill introduced by Congressman Tom Kean, Jr. (NJ-07) and co-led by Congressman Bill Pascrell, Jr. (NJ-09), the co-chairman of the House Fire Services Caucus, this bill will support and advance firefighter and first responder services across the nation.
