In Congress, it is my job to fight for the best interests of the hardworking individuals and families who call our state home. One critical issue that continues to burden our residents is the cap on the State and Local Tax Deduction (SALT), estimated to impact more than 425,000 families across the state. I fought for and achieved a full restoration of the State and Local Tax (SALT) deduction for every middle-class family in New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District.

Congressman Kean introduced the Mental Health Parity Enforcement and Funding Act to ensure that Americans have access to mental health and substance-use challenges. This is a cause that he championed in the New Jersey Senate, and Congressman Kean is proud to help lead this fight in Congress.

Following the widespread power outages following the 4th of July weekend storms, Congressman Kean sent a letter to the presidents of PSE&G and JCP&L demanding answers regarding the prolonged power outages that occurred over the weekend across New Jersey.
The people of New Jersey deserve reliable power at affordable prices, as well as transparency about how energy companies are working to prevent similar outages from occurring in the future.

“Community Project Funding requests are an important way to send much needed federal dollars back home to New Jersey,” said Congressman Kean. “From supporting our police to improving aging infrastructure, I am excited to share the 15 community projects selected for consideration in the FY2025 appropriations process. I will continue to fight in Congress to get this funding across the finish line, so we can improve lives in the Garden State.”

Congressman Kean introduced the Safer GAMING Act to require game providers to embed safeguards that help parents better protect minors from harmful interactions on gaming platforms.
This legislation passed through the House of Representatives as part of the KIDS Act in July.
