(August 5, 2024) HOPATCONG, NJ – Last week, Congressman Tom Kean, Jr. (NJ-07) met with Hopatcong Mayor Marie Galate ahead of the FY25 appropriations discussion to gain insight into the new lead service lines replacements in Hopatcong, Sussex County. Congressman Kean requested $1,000,000 for the Borough of Hopatcong in this year’s FY25 appropriation process. This funding would be used for completing the initial phase of lead service line replacements along various roadways in Hopatcong.
(August 2, 2024) WASHINGTON, NJ – Today, Congressman Tom Kean, Jr. (NJ-07) presented a $120,000 ceremonial check to the Abilities of Northwest Jersey, secured by the FY2024 Community Project Funding process. This funding will increase training and employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities through classroom and distance learning. The project will provide distance learning focusing on soft skills and provide professional growth and pre-employment services.
(August 2, 2024) MOUNT ARLINGTON, NJ – Yesterday, Congressman Tom Kean, Jr. (NJ-07) presented a $277,000 ceremonial check to the Borough of Mount Arlington, funding secured by the FY2024 Community Project Funding process. The grant will be used for purchasing security cameras and automated license plate readers for Mount Alington’s public spaces, such as municipal buildings, facilities, parks, attractions, and points of entry.
(July 30, 2024) WARREN TOWNSHIP, NJ – Today, Congressman Tom Kean, Jr. (NJ-07) toured the Warren Township Police Department ahead of the FY25 appropriations discussion to gain insight into local law enforcement needs and priorities. Congressman Kean requested $900,000 for the Township of Warren in this year’s FY25 appropriation process. This funding would be used for communication technology upgrades for emergency operations of the police department to allow the agency to meet the growing needs of the community.
(July 30, 2024) WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressmen Tom Kean, Jr. (NJ-07) and Gabe Amo (RI-01), introduced the Literacy in Future Technologies (LIFT) Artificial Intelligence Act, a bipartisan bill to improve artificial intelligence literacy for K-12.
(July 24, 2024) WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Tom Kean, Jr. (NJ-07) hosted Dylan Redfield as his guest to Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu’s Joint Session of Congress on Wednesday, July 24, 2024.
A Scotch Plains native, Dylan Redfield is a member of the Israeli Defense Forces, and has served two years with the IDF after graduating from the University of Maryland. He is currently an IDF reservist.
(July 23, 2024) WASHINGTON, DC – Yesterday, the House of Representatives passed the bipartisan Water Resources Development Act of 2024 (WRDA), which Congressman Tom Kean, Jr. (NJ-07) voted in favor of, to support water resources projects of national, regional, and local significance undertaken by the United States Army Corps of Engineers.

(July 17, 2024) SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ – Today, Congressman Tom Kean, Jr. (NJ-07) presented a $2,700,255 ceremonial check for the Scotch Plains Emergency Operations Center, funding secured by the FY2024 Community Project Funding process. This funding will relocate all emergency services to a new Emergency Operations Center.
(July 16, 2024) SPRINGFIELD, NJ – Today, Congressman Tom Kean, Jr. (NJ-07) celebrated the signing of the Fire Grants and Safety Act into law. This law incorporates language from H.R. 4090, the Fire Grants and Safety Act, a bill Congressman Kean championed through the House of Representatives.
(July 15, 2024) RARITAN TOWNSHIP, NJ – Today, Congressman Tom Kean, Jr. (NJ-07) presented a $459,000 ceremonial check to Raritan Township officials, funding that was secured by the FY2024 Community Project Funding process. This funding will be used for the purchase and installation of new generators at the Raritan Township Municipal Building and Police Department.
