(January 31, 2023) Washington, D.C. – Congressman Tom Kean, Jr. (NJ-07) issued the following statement after voting NO on H.R. 7024, which did not include any change to the SALT Deduction:

“I kept my promise to the New Jerseyans I represent. On a bill that does not raise the SALT Cap Deduction, I am a NO vote. Although I support numerous provisions in this bill, such as the Child Tax Credit, R&D tax incentive, and disaster relief, a fix for SALT is not in this package. As a legislator, I always put the people I represent at home first. The fact is, families across New Jersey deserve SALT tax relief, and I will continue standing strong to deliver on that goal until we get a bill to the floor that extends that relief to New Jersey families.” - Congressman Tom Kean, Jr.
