Kean Statement on the Election of Speaker Mike Johnson

(October 25, 2023) Washington, D.C. – Congressman Tom Kean, Jr. made the following statement regarding the election of Speaker Mike Johnson.

"From the very beginning of this debate, my priority has been electing a Speaker who will get Congress moving again and that will help me deliver for New Jersey families. I kept those principles front of mind and I have great faith that Speaker Johnson will help deliver for New Jersey and our country. I offered my congratulations on the floor to Speaker Johnson upon his election and I emphasized that I will work alongside him to swiftly address the serious issues we have before us. The People's House has returned to governing, and I will continue to be a leading voice for the New Jersey families I represent here."
