Kean Announces Vietnam Veterans Commemoration Program

(February 6, 2024) WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Tom Kean, Jr. (NJ-07) announced he is partnering with the United States Vietnam Veterans Commemoration Program, a program authorized by Congress, to thank and honor the nation’s Vietnam Veterans and their families for service and sacrifice. 

The Congressman will be hosting an event in March at which he will recognize Vietnam Veterans from the 7th Congressional District with a unique Commemorative lapel pin and certificate. 

“There are over 350,000 veterans in the state of New Jersey, many of whom have served in the Vietnam War,” said Congressman Kean. “This program is a great way to honor Vietnam veterans with recognition through the United States of America Vietnam Commemoration Program. Their services and sacrifices to our nation deserve to be acknowledged and celebrated.” 

Who is eligible for the Commemoration Program? 

Living U.S. veterans who served on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces at any time during the period of November 1, 1955, to May 15, 1975.  Veterans may have served in-country, in-theater, or who were stationed elsewhere during the Vietnam War period.
