Green & Gold Congressional Aide Program
Congressman Kean's District Office in New Jersey is seeking a Veteran, Gold Star family member, or Active-Duty spouse for a paid, two-year position through the Green & Gold Congressional Aide Program. The selected candidate will serve as a district representative, attending local veteran events and meetings on behalf of Congressman Kean while acting a liaison between constituents and government agencies such as the VA and Department of Defense at the federal, state, and local levels.
The Green & Gold Congressional Aide Program (G&G CAP) was created to offer eligible individuals with meaningful employment opportunities within the U.S. House of Representatives. This two-year program provides hands-on experience and professional exposure to help expand career prospects.
Eligible candidates must meet the following criteria as outlines by G&G CAP:
Veterans:
Honorably discharged
Released from active duty wihtin the last six years
Pay grades at or below E-5/O-3/W-2
Veterans who are in receipt of a 20-year or Temporary Early Retirement Authority (TERA) retirement are not eligible for the program
Gold Star Families
A surviving spouse, child/step-child, parent/step-parent, or sibling/step-sibling of a veteran who died: In the line of duty while serving in the Armed Forces orfrom a service-connected disability
Active-Duty Spouses:
Must be the spouse of an Active-Duty service member. Active-Duty service members work for the military full-time and are subject to permanent change of station or permanent change of assignment orders upon completion of each tour of duty.
