Kean Delivers $555,000 to Holland Township to Modernize Police Headquarters

February 6, 2026

(February 6, 2026) HOLLAND TOWNSHIP, NJ – Congressman Tom Kean, Jr. (NJ-07) presented $555,000 in federal funding to Holland Township recently for the renovation of its police department headquarters. Kean secured this funding through the FY2026 Community Project Funding process to directly support local law enforcement and ensure their officers have the modern facilities they need.

Holland Township’s Police Department headquarters was first constructed in 1976 when the department employed just four officers and handled a limited number of service calls. Five decades later, the department has now grown to 14 officers. In 2023 alone, the department responded to 5,648 service calls all while operating in facilities designed for a fraction of their capacity. The current space lacks sufficient office space, locker facilities, and processing areas, which significantly hinder officers' ability to work effectively, coordinate resources, and serve the community.

The renovation will bring the interior and exterior up to modern law enforcement standards, as well as add processing areas and security measures to facilitate efficient operations. The modernized police headquarters will be able to serve as a hub for community engagement and outreach initiatives by providing space for community meetings, educational programs, and events that foster positive relationships between law enforcement and the community.

“The over $500,000 in federal funding for Holland Township will enable police officers to finally have the tools and space they need to effectively protect and serve the community,” said Congressman Tom Kean, Jr. “Holland's police headquarters has not been properly upgraded in nearly 50 years, and these officers are responding to over 5,000 calls a year in a building designed for a fraction of that demand.  Investing in our police infrastructure means investing in public safety and the well-being of the entire Holland community.”

“This funding is a strong example of what can be accomplished when federal, state, and local leaders work together,” said Senator Douglas Steinhardt (NJ-23). “Holland Township’s police officers deserve modern facilities that allow them to do their jobs safely and effectively, and this investment will help ensure they have the resources they need to serve the community.”

“These upgrades will have a real and lasting impact on officer readiness, coordination, and community engagement,” said Hunterdon County Sheriff Fred Brown. “By modernizing police facilities and expanding capacity, this funding helps ensure law enforcement can meet today’s demands while continuing to provide the high level of service our residents expect. We are grateful to Congressman Kean for prioritizing public safety across our municipalities.”

Since taking office, Congressman Tom Kean, Jr. has secured over $12 million for police departments across New Jersey’s Seventh Congressional District through the Community Project Funding process, demonstrating a consistent, tangible commitment to backing the blue with real resources. Kean remains steadfast in ensuring local law enforcement officers receive the support and equipment necessary to keep our communities safe.

All 15 projects that Congressman Kean was allotted for the FY2026 Community Project Funding process have now passed the U.S. House of Representatives. View the full list of projects HERE.
